Reactions From World Cup Day 2

Yesterday we saw the world cup burst into life with a total of 11 goals produced by the teams that played, also history was made both good and bad.
It all started with Mexico Vs Cameroon , Mexico got a well deserved victory after playing some fine football. The goal by Peralta came in the 61st minute, but before that as usual there were controversies, with the game seeing two disallowed goals. Below are the videos of the disallowed goals.

 Cameroons disallowed goal

Next was the demolition job , or one would say sweet revenge. The Netherlands thrashed Spain by 5 goals to 1. This only meant a warning statement by Van Gaal and the dutch to other teams. Not that it was enough Casillas the most capped player in the tournament saw himself and the team reach an all time low in the history books. No reigning champion has been beaten by that scoreline.
 Here are the videos

Finally to sum it all, a mouth watering game between Chile and Australia which saw the socceros put up a good fight with good end to end attacking soccer , but losing 3 goals to 1. In this game history was made withJean Beausejour scoring the winner and ensuring that he became the first  Chilean to score in two world cups tournaments.
Goals from the game,

Now for the reactions and thoughts by fans across the world ,

Reaction From The Fans On Opening Day

Generally it was a great match with some sweet build up play from the Croatians and some individual brilliance from Neymar and Oscar. Personally I think Brazil weren't at their best ,  it took a long time for them to settle into the game and for me Oscar was the man of the match , the rest of the players failed to came to the party. On the other hand Croatia were great but all they were missing was mandzkic.
On the whole the scoreline didn't depict the true story of the game and the issue with the penalty I think it was to harsh but its to be expected because the world cup is always full with controversies , that's what makes it the world cup.
And on opening day had its share of the controversies,
First was marcelo's own goal opener lol ,

I even have sources who claim he took his eye of the ball , lol

Then finally the penalty,

Reaction of brazil fans on first goal,  was ecstatic, here's some posts from twitter.

But some fans to thought other wise,

For the Croatia's coach here's what he had to say,

For today we pick it up a little bit, three matches on the trot: schedule  so do well not to miss them.

World Cup Fever On The Low

Its the eve of the FIFA world cup and yet the soccer fever is a bit low through out Brazil due to security issues. These security issues are inside the Favela Communities of Rio De janeiro  a group of 16 communities house around 130,000 residents and have been dominated by drug gangs and militias and is costantly plagued by violence.
Here's a video of the patrol team in Brazil.

Interesting enough the  Fifa referee who sent melo off in the last world cup would be the man in charge.

In recent times and in the past competitions theres always an upset among teams giving the notch as favorites. If Croatia are looking to cause an upset then they face a tall order with the kind of depth in the Brazil squad. However if Croatia scores the opener it would silence the Brazilian fans and I tell you the Croatia know its their best chance at beating Brazil.
